About Us
SERVING SINCE 1978 AND EVOLVING FOR THE FUTURE
Rotary International: Creating Lasting Change
Rotary is a global volunteer network of over 1.4 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Rotary's 45,000 clubs work together to develop and implement sustainable, community-driven projects that fight disease, promote peace, provide clean water, support education, help mothers and children, grow local economies, and protect the environment.
Kerikeri Rotary: We're People of Action
We’re a group of locals who care deeply about Kerikeri, the wider Mid North, and the world beyond. Since 1978, Rotary Kerikeri members have rolled up their sleeves to support young people, strengthen our community infrastructure, protect our streams and rivers, mentor leaders, contribute to global causes, and more.
Kerikeri is often called the jewel of the Mid North, and that didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of decades of people showing up, pitching in, and working together to make this a better place to live.
How You Can Be Involved
There's no single way to be a Rotarian. We know that life is busy, and flexibility matters. What counts is your passion for service.
You can choose what works best for you.
- Project-based involvement. Prefer hands-on action? Many members focus on projects and community work, helping out when their time allows.
- Meetings and connection. Meetings are about fellowship. learning from local speakers, and planning how we can have the greatest impact. But they're only one way to stay connected. We have:
- Three evening meetings each month
- One morning meeting each month
- A mix of both
Some members enjoy both attending meetings and helping with projects. Others lean more one way or the other. No matter how much time you have to participate, all contributions are valued.
What We Work On
Together, we tackle meaningful projects close to home and further afield, including:
- Supporting local youth and families
- Strengthening mental health and wellbeing
- Caring for our environment
- Community infrastructure and support
- Disaster relief and international projects
Our club is:
-
Service-first: Projects over protocols. -
Flexible: Join in as you’re able. There are no strict schedules.
-
Welcoming: Open to all ages, stages of life, and backgrounds.
Whether we enjoy meetings, projects, or both, our goal is the same: to make a real difference right here in Kerikeri.
We're project-driven, low-fuss, and high-impact.
Our motto is "Come when you can. Do what you can."
Which Works for You?
Whether you want to meet regularly, or participate when you can, what matters is your passion for service. Either way, your contribution will help create positive change.
